clean drinking water

Berlin, August 17, 2022 – 2.2 billion people worldwide do not have assured access to clean drinking water. About 785 million of them even lack basic water supply. Yet, water is the basis of all life and a fundamental human right. Sharing Viva con Agua’s vision of access to clean drinking water, hygiene facilities and basic sanitary provision for all people, aware_ is pleased to have won the non-profit organization as a charity partner for the aware_ Academy.

With Viva con Agua, the Berlin-based start-up offers its speakers the opportunity to donate part or all of their expense allowance as part of the aware_ Academy.

“Positive and joyful activism is key for Viva con Agua. We strongly encourage creative ways of supporting us and our vision of water for all. Therefore, we are grateful for the support of the aware_ Academy.“ – Carolin Stüdemann, Executive Board at Viva con Agua

In addition, Carolin Stüdemann, Executive Board at Viva con Agua, is part of the aware_ Academy as speaker of the Masterclass Social Entrepreneurship & SDGs. In the Masterclass, the expert will address how environmental issues and the social aspect intersect. Furthermore, social entrepreneurship and the link to the 17 United Nations Social Development Goals (SDGs) are discussed. Special attention will be given to the sixth SDG, which deals with clean water and sanitation.

“Water is life and we are convinced of that. That is why we support Viva con Agua and clean drinking water for all.“ – Kim N. Fischer, co-founder of aware_

About Viva con Agua

Viva con Agua is an international network of people and organizations working for safe access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation. In 2006, the non-profit association Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli was founded. In the meantime, the vision “Water for all – all for water” has been supported by more than 10,000 volunteer supporters who collect donations for WASH (Water, Sanitation, Hygiene) projects worldwide with countless actions – including artists and musicians. Together with international and local partner organizations, the movement has already reached around three million people in WASH projects. In addition to the Hamburg-based association, the internationally active network now includes the Viva con Agua Foundation and locally active Viva con Agua associations in Uganda, Austria, the Netherlands and Switzerland. The spin-off social business companies Viva con Agua Wasser GmbH, Viva con Agua Arts gGmbH and Goldeimer gGmbH support Viva con Agua’s drinking water and sanitation projects with their activities. www.vivaconagua.org
